My name is Lavina Rana and I’m an Austin-based graphic designer and photographer. I was born in Singapore but I grew up in Adelaide, South Australia. I studied photography in my undergrad at The University of South Australia and it was my focus in fashion and commercial photography that made me fall in love with graphic design. I became curious and passionate about the relationship between image and text and decided to further my studies in visual communication. During my graduate program, I was lucky to be selected to study at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts - The School of Design, in Copenhagen, Denmark for a semester. This experience has greatly influenced my work in terms of aesthetic and conceptual values. I developed a habit of sketching out my ideas and documenting it as it allows me to open up avenues and possibilities of innovation.
